- $80,000 p.a. (NBES band 3) Ongoing contract.

NBES band 3– professional services level 2 with starting salary in the
range of $65-80,000 negotiable based on applicants experience but potentially
10-40% above award with a stratified annual bonus.

Ongoing contract, with annual review and probation period of 6 months
About the role
We are looking for a motivated GIS Analyst to complement our team,
working under the supervision of and in collaboration with North Barker’s
Directors (Principal Ecologists) and Senior Ecologists.
This is a broad, dynamic role which leverages spatial data for
environmental decision making and planning of various development projects,
including for renewables, infrastructure and industrial sector clients. The
role will require a high attention to detail and understanding and presentation
of data to support our deliverables..
The applicant must be proficient with QGIS and have experience in
manipulating, analysing and displaying spatial data. Remote sensing experience
including drone-based and/or satellite enabled vegetation mapping is highly
regarded.
Key duties will involve:

Day to day management of the NBES GIS mapping work load schedule in
click-up
·
Spatial data capture, management, analysis, interpretation and
presentation
·
Preparation of professional maps for reporting and field work
·
GIS software support for internal users
·
GNSS data implementation
·
Drone piloting for vegetation mapping
·
Differential GPS plotting in the field
·
Provision of work scopes and cost estimates

What we are looking for
Essential criteria
The successful applicant will have the following:
·
Tertiary qualifications in GIS/Spatial Sciences, Surveying or closely
related discipline.
·
A minimum of two years of relevant GIS experience, ideally with some
consulting experience.
·
Experience using QGIS for mapping, spatial data manipulation and
presentation.
·
Experience using QField to create data workflows suitable for use by
field ecologists.
·
An ability to manage and query a complex spatial database in a
standardised, orderly manner.
·
High attention to detail, especially when representing data
cartographically.
·
Strong time management skills, including experience working within a
budget, and appreciation of the importance of these elements to business
operations.
·
Well-developed communication skills and a demonstrated capacity to
effectively communicate with project managers, other staff, and clients.
·
A strong self-driven work ethic, a positive attitude towards a dynamic
and complex workload, and the ability to work productively while balancing
multiple priorities and directions.
·
Proficiency with the MS Office suite (in particular Excel and Access).
·
Authorisation to work long term in Australia.
Desirable criteria
The following will also be highly regarded:
·
Honours or higher post graduate qualifications.
·
Proficient and broad IT skills
·
Interest and knowledge of environmental field that our business operates
in
·
Demonstrated capacity to present mapping information in visual format
that is clear and engaging.
