- Ability to meet Defence obligations, deliver
environment management in accordance with Defence environmental policies,
procedures and Commonwealth legislation.
- Deep understanding of one or more of the
following: catchment management systems, soil conservation works,
regenerative landscape approach to catchment management systems,
biodiversity and pollution prevention.
- Monitor and deliver environment management
programs aligning with Defence’s ISO14000 environmental management system,
assessing environment risks and developing strategic responses.
- Ability to identify and advocate for
efficiencies and improvements in environmental management across Defence
estate including training areas to meet current and future environment
challenges.
- Build relationships with stakeholders from all
levels to communicate Defence’s environment policy requirements using your
negotiation and community education skills.
- Work collaboratively within a geographically
dispersed team to deliver Defence environment objectives and build team
knowledge.
- Analyse, prioritise business practices
furthering Defence’s environmental policy objectives while identifying and
advising on environmental risks and their mitigations.
- Excellent written, verbal, negotiation and
communication skills to achieve environmental outcomes.
