 Title: Senior Ecologist / Environmental Scientist Team Leader

Location: Brisbane

To be successful in this role you will have:

·         Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Environmental Planning/Ecology/Zoology

·         Working knowledge of Queensland, NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation

·         Skills and experience in ecological surveys and reporting in Queensland and/or New South Wales

·         Strong project, budget, and client management skills.

·         Experienced team leader with

o    great communication skills.

o    strong operational safety.

o    ability to organise, resource and schedule allocation of work across various teams and projects.

o    capability to evaluate and performance manage.

o    ability to build successful team dynamics.

·         Experience in Environmental Impact Statement requirements in QLD and/or New South Wales relating to ecology

·         Experience in planning, coordinating and undertaking fieldwork

·         Willingness and capability to conduct remote field work

·         Demonstrated data analysis and report writing skills

·         Experience in preparing a range of high-quality consulting reports

·         Working knowledge of

o    fauna habitat and survey techniques

o    fauna identification and handling

o    Queensland and/or New South Wales flora species

o    Queensland and/or New South Wales regional ecosystems framework

·         A commitment to safety and safe work practices

·         Well-developed analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

·         Ability to work well with a variety of other people and work safely in the field

·         Current driver’s licence – manual licence preferred.

The following skills and attributes would be highly regarded:

·         Prior ecological consulting experience (preferably in QLD or NSW)

·         Mapping abilities using QGIS and / or ArcGIS

·         Major project safety inductions and training, including construction white card
