Our Lands and Water Division team is currently seeking to appoint a Water Scientist to undertake investigation and analysis of fluvial geomorphology, hydrology and water quality to provide data and information which inform water management outcomes.

About You

You will have knowledge relevant to the position and be confident applying this knowledge to evaluate work environments and scientific developments. You will also have a strong ability to translate complex scientific terminology to simplified language, allowing for clear interpretation of analysis and results by a variety of individuals.

Essential Requirements

·         Appropriate degree level tertiary qualifications in science, natural resources, geomorphology or a related discipline.

·         Knowledge of state and federal natural resource management frameworks, in particular reference to evaluation, riverine health and water sharing.

The Lands and Water Division (L&W) is a new division and has the mandate to transform the way it does its business. The purpose and strategy of the new division is currently being refreshed but it will continue to be responsible for policy, planning, regulation, monitoring and evaluation of the State’s surface water and groundwater resources and representing the NSW government in water management nationally strategy, policy and programs for the stewardship of Crown Lands for NSW and overseeing the management and operation of cemeteries and crematoria.
